Our Philosophy
The Internet has been empowering people more more than 15 years to
obtain information and share it with others. Many cancer centers,
oncologists, and surgeons tell their patients not
to use the Internet as an information source. While there are many
untrustworthy sources, and outright misinformation on the Internet, we
disagree. Informed consumers, particularly consumers of very
aggressive treatments, need access to quality information, and they
shouldn't have to wait for years while the traditional publishing
process prints books and scientific articles. When new scientific
information is available, it needs to reach people who need it most--
patients and their families.
We believe that people are intelligent and can make informed
decisions. No one should restrict your access to information, or
advise you not to take advantage of a wide range of resources.
Remember: this offer expires at midnight on December 15, 2009.
If you've recently finished chemotherapy
or radiation treatment for cancer, you may wonder if any more stray
cancer cells are lurking in your body. You may have had your fill of
cancer doctors' offices and advice and need a break from it all. But now, after your cancer treatment is over, you need to learn more so that you can rebuild your
health and immunity. A new guide on the latest information for cancer survivors is
available to you now.
The Cancer Survivor's Guide to Building Immunity is
a gift for cancer survivors, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness
month. This new eBook is based on the decades of research by oncology
researchers and cancer survivors who have studied immunity, cancer, and cancer-related processes in the body. The eBook contains more than 20
pages of easy-to-understand explanations about why these
biological processes are important. We call them the "Big Three":
Oxidation
and free radicals (damaged, mutated cells that can develop into
cancer), and why you need to protect your cells. If you're taking only an
antioxidant supplement from the vitamin store, you may not have enough protection from cancer.
Angiogenesis
(the blood vessel growth that feeds cancer cells) works well for
healing, but it can lead to rapid cancer growth. Learning about this
natural process can be a key to your survival, health, and freedom from more cancer treatment.
Immune cells,
such as Natural Killer cells, that actively seek out damaged cells and
destroy them. Most physicians and oncologists don't know much, if
anything, about how these cells work and how to increase them.
When you understand enough to appreciate
what your body can do to fight diseases such as cancer, you can then begin to make good decisions for
your health and longevity. Cancer does not have to mean a shorter life
span, a lower quality of life, or years of fatigue.
You may not want to learn about biology, you might think you do not need to learn
about cancer cells and the biological processes. But, for your recovery and
your new life after cancer, you should take just a little time to learn
about the "Big Three" - oxidation, angiogenesis, and immune
stimulation.
Most doctors are now relying on pharmaceutical companies
for their information on new findings about cancer and cancer-related treatment. These companies are focused on
drug-based solutions to treat cancer after it has been diagnosed, and not on what people can do to achieve cancer-free health on
their own. Doctors are restricted by insurance companies and Medicare
regulations about what they can do for you. And, most important,
doctors are so busy that they don't have time to read the latest
research on any cancer information not directly related to their practice.
If your survival and quality of life are important to you, you
need to learn more about how you can recover, rebuild, and protect, and
not just depend on others to make decisions for you.
The eBook guide will explain the biological processes in just the
right amount of detail, and you can begin making better decisions for
your health. You can begin eating the right foods, adjusting your
lifestyle as you can, and feeling better and less fearful of that next
doctor's visit.
About the main author:
Dr. Susan Hardwicke is a Stage III breast cancer survivor who
specializes in helping others to recover from chemotherapy and its side
effects. She speaks to support groups and cancer conferences on chemo
brain and other debilitating side effects. She has personally used
many of the principles in this book in her own healing and recovery,
and arrived at the same knowledge that she wants to impart to you.
After completing surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation, Dr. Hardwicke was disappointed to learn that her tumor marker tests showed that cancer was still active. Since she had had surgery after chemotherapy, she had already known that the chemo had not "gotten it all." She began researching more about the effects of chemotherapy and realized that it not only had not eradicated the cancer, it had likely further compromised her immune system and left her more unprotected from cancer growth than before.
Through speaking to support groups, and starting a website, www.healthafterchemo.com, Dr. Hardwicke is striving to help cancer survivors improve their longevity and quality of life.
